During the reign of Louis XV, Maud witnesses her father’s death at the hands of a stranger whom she has just enough time to slash. In search of the truth, she travels to Paris and is taken in by her grandfather, a stern nobleman who introduces her to court life at Versailles. But Maud is only interested in the highwayman known as the Fox, who robs the rich to give to the poor. She then begins to play the role of a masked vigilante, becoming the Scarlet Rose to avenge her father and try to get close to the Fox...
